Forest fires in Syria

 

There have been a very large number of forest fires happening in Syria which have been burning down a ton of land in the country, yet there is no media coverage happening about this issue. 80% of the forests have been burned down due to fires but the media is ignoring all of this. Due to these fires there has been a great loss of crops and an economic crisis on the way for the country. As of October 10, 2 people had been killed as a result of the fires and 70 were taken to hospital as they were having trouble breathing. Many people had to evacuate their homes as a precautionary measure. The whole country is a mess currently. Hundreds of hectares of land had been burned in the coastal Latakia and Tartus provinces as well as Homs province. Along with land being destroyed, many houses have also been destroyed and no support is being provided by the government or allied countries. In Lebanon as well, there has been over 100 fires reported. This is a very serious issue that is taking place in Syria. The country needs support from other countries in order to help fight these fires, or else everything will be destroyed. The media also needs to speak on this issue and bring more awareness to people about what is happening.
